xenon headlights

  Clio 172 mk2
i have got a 172 mk2 and my headlights are shining really low, i have done a search and found that im not the only one to have this problem. i have had a quick go at turning the white screw behind the headlight but it didnt look like my lights moved and i wasnt sure if i was turning it the correct way. could anyone tell me if i should turn it clockwise or anticlockwise to raise them. cheers

If you sit infront of a garage or as level surface you can find.

By turning the white key you will see whihc way the lights move.
IIRC clockwise will raise them.

If they are just facing the floor and not moving you may have another problem:

1) Motor has become disconnected from lamp

2) The lamp is defective and come away from its internal fixtures (quite common from pot holes or a bump)

No probs.

You should be able to see it start moving a fair bit with only a few turns.

If you need a hand with it drop me a pm or something as ur in Coventry also?

If there is a problem with the self levelling system they automatically go to the lowest setting i.e. pointing downwards.

Might be something to do with that?

Ah yes i forgot about that.

As i mentioned if there is another problem such as the leveling it cud be an issue.

IIRC the sensor or line may become unclipped on the rear beam. In that case you need to do more then just adjust the front aim.

I had this when I got my Clio.

Don't touch adjusters yet, check the self levelling device and the rear axle, on the passengers side, just in front of the axle.
It's looks like a small electric motor with a small arm attached to the axle.

My arm had simply broke.
