Ok people....i need your cliosporter help!

my drivers side xenon light has stopped working!

i washed my arches with a power jet today and since then the drivers xenon has stopped working........guttered coz i have read how much they cost to replace so do you think once the car dries out it will work again????

^ it could just be a coincedence, the bulb could have gone, or it could be full of water, in that case it may be knackered! need to get someone to look at it really, remove the bulb etc and check for feeds!

My black 172 had a few £ sepnt on the xenons before i bought it, in the end it was the ballast, not the bulb. Even spurious bulbs are about £80, and they're white, as oppose to the blueish std

There hard to find! the ballast pack is underneath, so you may well have soaked it!:S

i had to replace my ballast pack and could only get it from renault. they charged me 170+ vat for the ballist pack and black charger pack for the back of the bulb aswell. i also had to replace the bulb aswell and managed to get 1 of them from ebay for bowt 25 quid! was very inpressed with that price and have had no problems with it since.

sounds like its the ballast pack has gone as there is no buzzing and cant get the bulb out to check it.

where can i get one from?

Ballasts are hard to come by and pricey from Renault! May be better off buying a complete new headlight (£180ish) from Matt Black.

rite now im confused.....sometimes they work sometimes they dont

they havent worked all day wen switching them on manually so thought they were defo broken.

got in the car tonight to go round my rents. auto lights kick in and they both work! drive there then wen i come to leave only one light works again. but by the time ive drove 5 mins if that they are both on again then some where along the way (in built up area so didnt notice it) it switches off. switch the lights to manual and the light goes back on

wot do you think then lads/ladies???

^ may be just moisture in it? if your lucky leave it for a few days see how it behaves! may cure itself if your super lucky!

Happened to mine after I forgot to put the rubber seal back on correctly.

Give it a few days drying out and see what happens.

Ballast Resistor was my issue, found out by Renault themselves, most expensive part to fix/replace too which is typical....

There you are - you learned lesson number 1 - never use a pressure washer to clean your car. You can a) blast grit into your paint work and cause scratches, b) damage rubber seals causing water ingress, and c) damage plastic bodywork

Monkey beast - well learnt lesson......1st time use a pressure washer on it as i was being lazy and last time! lol

just got back for a garage looking at it.........one of the plugs werent in properly and was a pain to get in (machinic was cursing me) so hopefully that is the only problem

he sed if that didnt work to pop back and he will get the light out and test everything!
