XP Start-Up Q

I have just reinstalled windows onto an old PC I am getting rid of. On the BIOS screen at start-up, it keeps asking me which OS I would like to boot up, and gives the following options:

- Windows XP Home Ed
- Windows XP Home Ed

Why is it asking me this. I reformatted both drives so there was nothing on them btw.

Also, it keeps telling me the system time has not been set, even though I have done so. Is that a battery issue?

Cheers!!!

Not meaning to make you sound silly, but i better ask. When you Installed XP, there is an option to Re-format completely etc. But also another to just install XP. I once made the mistake of simply installing without a complete format and ended up with 2 installs like you!

Not sure if this helps! But another go at formatting may work?

Yup, I know the bit you mean. I deleted all partitions, so all I had were to 80GB unformatted HD's. I can only select one of the options. When I select the other one, it says something about it no existing, or some s**t like that.

But ta anyway!!!

Is it one of those recovery partitions? You may have to use the silly recovery disc that came with the 'puter. I had that with my Acer laptop, if i tried to downgrade to XP from Vista it would let me format the two 80gb partitions into 1, but it still kept a second install of Vista (In a small 2gb/ish partition) for backup, which it wouldn't let me delete :(

No. It's actually two physical drives, hence the two partitions. I have it sorted now anyway thanks. Just deleted a line from some text file. It seems to have worked.
