I know they are standard equipment in a lot of mixing/sound engineering studios but used as a reference speaker rather than the main set of mixing monitors.

I haven't personally heard them myself but i've heard more than enough comments stating that if you can make a mix sound good on them they will sound good on anything! So if the sound good on the yamaha's they supposedly translat well to almost any tother system.

You using them in a studio or for a stereo setup?

I need some good monitors but i dont know what to get and how much to spend.

Near-field monitors, industry standard until they got discontinued in 2001.

What do you need to know?

I have a set sat here I have barely used and was wondering what they are worth. I got them from Yamaha as a favour when they were discontiued as a favour for my good custom.

I'd like £150 as I don't really want to let them go.

Where are you based?

I'm in coventry but need to find out a bit more info first.

I really need some monitors but not sure if these will be ok as my only pair.

Can they be powered from a hi-fi separates amp or would the amp colour the sound too much?

I've got a cambridge audio A1 mk3 that i use at the moment but don't know if this will be up to the job?

They don't need a lot of power and all the places I have used them I have powered them off of standard amps.

I'll let you look into it, give me a shout. I'm in London.
