Zaino

  16v Dynamique
Anyone had any experience?

I'm going to invest in some for the summer but a little confused as to which products I will need. Paint will be in near perfect condition and freshly machined, as I understand this is important as the Zaino highlights any imperfections.

Anyone shed any light?

I have used it a few times on various cars when working with Brazo, gives a optical perfect finish, looks great but any mark will be highlighted. Leaves a super slick finish like nothing else I have experienced.

Personally it looks a tad plasticy and fake for me so not one I would go for on my own car and if I did I would only end up topping it with carnuba. Some people love the way it looks.

Mainly Z-2

Z-5 is intended for single stage paint, Z-2 for clearcoated finishes I believe.

EDIT - Though the above seems to have changed looking on there site now thy have Z-5 pro.

I don't know what to go for now....

I keep thinking it's expensive but then compared to a decent wax the zaino products are a fair bit cheaper....if you get what I mean.

Cheers Rich I may try that...or I might just bite the bullet and get one of the kits off Prodetailing.

We've just got the whole Zaino range in :D

The difference between Z-2 and Z-5 is that Z-5 has light swirl filling abilities. Both are sealants and essentially do a similar job in terms of sealing.

Zaino for maximum bling reccomend topping the Z-5 with Z-2.

On top of those you can use the spray selant Z-8 which is awesome or Clear Seal or a combination of them.

There is a good Zaino guide over on Detailing World: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=30674

Cool, will that still be the case in 2-3 weeks Tim? At uni now so won't order until I get home and get some work coming in you see.

Not at the moment mate. I'm not going to be able to wash the car till at least next week now so... I'll dig this thread up when I do though.

I have taken the Plunge - placed my order last night.

Only the finishing kit Z-2 Pro, Z-6 and Z-8 and some Z-7 shampoo. Don't know when I will find time to use it though.

I am not finding the time to do much cleaning at the moment so I am thinking/hoping this may be the key if all it needs to maintain it is a wash and QD.

One thing I do notice abouut Zaino is that it seems to repel dirt more than a carnuba meaning the car looks cleaner for longer. I would also say that it is slightly more anti-static than a 'nuba.

I'd also recommend diluting the Z-8 down with water too Rich, as sometimes when using it neat in sunlight it can streak. Cutting it with water seems to help this problem.

I have not found any anti static Carnauba's, they all seems to attract dust for me. I bet I still end up topping the Z though!

Cheers for the Z-8 tip - do you do decant it into a separate spray bottle ? How much do you dilute it down by ?

Cheers

Rich

I cut it 1:1 with distilled water in a seperate spray bottle. Try to get one that sprays really fine though, as you only need a very small amount.

Just see what you think with regards to the anti-static properties and repelling dirt. My car seems alot less dusty after a few days when using Zaino compared to a carnuba.

Cheers guys.

The AJT is fairly anti static, so I would imagine the Zaino to match that at least then :)

Not used the Jeffs so I can't comment, but I hope it would at lest match it!

Also Rich, make sure you prep the surface well with either IPA or Z-AIO, and be wary of curing times in cooler weather even when using Z-FX.

I have some IPA, but to be honest with you I was going to give it a quick lick with Final Finish and then use Carlack or Klasse as I have loads of it.

Wonder if anyone has used it over SRP ?

  106 GTi
I remember when I first joined Autopia many moons ago that people would use over Klasse AIO, but I have an idea SRP may contain to many fillers.

It's arrived :) Top service as ever from Tim @ CYC

Thinking I maybe should have got some Z5 Pro too now after reading up a bit on it.
