hi all just wondering what the torque settings for the cam pulleys are because my friend had his cam belt done at ktech and the timing has jumped because the ex pulley has spun round? must have been quite loose to spin round right?
3 1/2 hours but I'm a fully trained mechanic so knew what I was doing really and had a ramp and all the proper tools to hand. Hardest bit was getting off the lower cambelt cover..and putting it back on.
Hi guys so was at te garage till 10 last night fitting all those bits. Yes those are trade prices by the way. Went well with the tool very easy to do actually.
water pump is on the aux belt not the cambelt and very rare to go on the 182.
yea my garage has the horse shoe and tdc pin but didnt have the cam locking tool so i needed to buy that for it, still cheaper than getting ktech to do it for 600 inc dephaser pulley.
might even keep the tool and...
so ive spent a whole total of £368.14 on the following:
cambelt kit
aux belt kit
dephaser pulley
and the genuine cam locking tool (with adaptor for 182)
also got to fit:
front brembo hc discs
front ferodo ds2500 pads
rear discs and pads....
got to start this at 5:30 after work...
good good may give it a go with out the tool lolif it doesnt work i will be walking home lol
also car is a 2005 182 with 52k on the clock too early for change?
but surely if new belt is fitted and cam sprockets are tourqed correctly and the crank pin and horseshoe fits in easily its timed up correctly? doesnt matter where the pulleys face cause there free wheeling right? as long as the horse shoe and crank are inserted easily its ok?
tell me if im...
we've got the horse shoe and crank pins but not the cam holding tools, the front tool is only to hold the cams whislt undoing/tightening up the cams right? if so surely can be dont with out ;)
im a full time mechanic have been for 4 years and done sooo many cambelts, but really not sure with these depahser pulleys, only ever done one on a megane 1.6 and it went fine, but we dont have the front locking tool for the engine so might just send it to ktech :S or could have a go and save...
might get the pulley done aswell then :( gonna get ktech to do it as there only 30 mins from me.
also what engine oil shall i use as i will be doing the service at home?
cheers
