Hi guys, just got myself another clio, this one is a 2002 CUP.
The speedo hasn't worked since I got it (£900 expected problems), I first thought the sensor may have been nicked by the previous owner. Now that i've taken note of the gearbox code I'm thinking this gearbox might not be compatible...
Sooo managed to find the gearbox code.. It says JC5 130... so I think the bloke fitted the wrong box :@ I've been trying to cram a sensor i bought into what I can only assume is an inspection port at the back of the gearbox...
There is just what looks like an inspection hole.. Perhaps the previous owner took the sensor out.. He did mention something about a new gearbox... He wouldn't have put a later gearbox without the speedo sensor in there would he? Is that even possible?
Looking at it again, it has the ABS teeth on the driveshafts but no abs sensors, so indeed no ABS.
The speedo is constantly at zero and the service light is on.
Cheers
Hi guys struggling with this
Basically bought a cheap cup with a few problems which I'm working my way through, however struggling with the speedo, I heard the sensor is at the back of the gearbox on cups but I cannot find the bugger, it may have been pulled out by the previous owner. I can't...
Problem solved!
My front drivers side bearing had packed in (literally)..
Got myself a replacement swivel hub with bearing in for £15 from a breakers.
Wapped it out myself using this hard to find guide by G_F -Added a chunk at the end.
Front Swivel Hub Removal.
I have assumed you have...
I thought they advance the timing top end for more power and reduced it low end so you use less fuel unless you gun it..
With a race set up they'd smooth out the entire thing and make it rape fuel for power
I fancy a dyno trip, anywhere in southwales anyone know of?
Ohh you guyss..
From the way people go on about RS intakes I thought they were Renaults gift to the world. -I now know better..
I think I may have a wee remap in there. I get 44-45mpg at 70mph, which seems a bit above average. And at 5krpm it kicks like i have a bo... ??
But then again...
Hi guys
Had my 182 a good 8 months now, Today I lined up with a fellow 182 (Blue, oldish bloke cardiff area?), anywho he gave me a nod and a rev as you dooo, so took this as a bit of a race.
Lights turned green, 1st 2nd we were both struggling for grip and pretty level, then 3rd 4th 5th i...
Right so I removed the caliper and found that the piston gasket sleeve had come away leaving the piston exposed and has developed some 'white rust' so it was completely jammed. I used a bit of penetrating lube and gave it a bit of a clean before winding it back a bit, this freed it up nicely. I...
I had to change mine as a tooth shot through the bottom of the gearbox then all my box fluid came out, at the time I couldn't work out where it had come from and then I had every mechanic and people on here telling me it was my engine sump, after doing countless checks I continued to drive it...
