16v brake set-up

The N-reg clio 16v is getting new brakes soon..but we dont know too much about the French Fighter...

Done a search & the best topic on it is here: <A target=_blank href= "http://forum.cliosport.net/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=6&TopicID=9375&SearchPagePosition=3&search=brakes&searchMode=allwords&searchIn=Topic&forum=6&searchSort=dateDESC&ReturnPage=Searchhttp://forum.cliosport.net/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=6&TopicID=9375&SearchPagePosition=3&search=brakes&searchMode=allwords&searchIn=Topic&forum=6&searchSort=dateDESC&ReturnPage=Search

Not going the big-brake route...just looking for standard size replacements front & rear but dont know the best ones to go for. (15" wheels).

From the topics Ive read so far..people are saying standard rears with uprated pads. Do they mean standard size or standard Renault discs?? Also which pads??

Fronts I havent a clue wot to get....different makes for different cars & all that. I know that EBC are good on my Escort..but people on here say stay away from them. Could get plain motoquip discs & get them grooved for about £100. Or does anyone have any other suggestions for discs and pads??

Just been on BB website & prices for standard set-up seem very reasonable. Anyone got their gear fitted or any views??

I had EBCs all round on my Red 16v and can definately recommend them but if you have ABS i would say just use genuine rear discs as these come with the bearings and ABS reluctor rings attached!

Have been told that id prob need to get new rear bearings as they always drop apart...but do you mean that genuine discs come with those or are they extra in cost??

Rang Reno..they said £41.65 +vat....but still need to buy bearings (£50+vat) with that. Gave them the reg no & thats wot he came back with. Why are some disc prices with bearings & some without??

for rear discs ask for abs ones from reno cos they come with bearings already pressed in and are cheaper than the non abs ones

dont ask me why it just is

According to Reno the discs we need dont come with bearings. Its non ABS according to our garagey bloke who fixes all our little problems.

Adiclio: can you fit abs discs to a non-abs set-up?? Wots the difference?? Is it just a plug or something which you can tie-back out of the way??
