25bhp Gain???

Read this on another forum - no way this can be true!

"An extra 25bhp with a simple ram air (supercharger) system.

What you want to do is go to pc-world... get four 50mm pc case
fans.

You cut four 50mm circles out of the top of the air box and
attach the fans. Make sure you get them the right way around
(you want them blowing into the air box!!!!)

Case fans are 12v so you can wire them direct across an ignition
live or (if you only want the boost now and then) to a switch on the
dash.

The extra 'ram air' effect of the fans is worth at least 25bhp and
as a bonus you can even get funky case fans with led lights built
in for a bit of bling.

A lot of people don't know about this little wheeze. It's a
Really good way of getting more power without resorting to
Extortionately priced upgrades.

You will also notice a much better 'induction roar' as you accelerate
Obviously this is due to the forced air going into your system.
Usually I wire the fans to a switch for 'silent running' in town.

Some of the F1 teams actually used the same concept in the 2001 season
The FIA promptly banned it of course! There was a product that
Used 'passive fans' (eg not powered) the theory being that the
Passive fan would rotate with induction and the flywheel action would
Increase much needed ram air on over-run. But with the fans turned off I
Don't notice any increase in induction noise! Let us know how you get on?"

Didn't one of the cars have a big f**k off fan on the rear? Maybe that could be used on the cs?

Cheers lads - I thought the "poster" of the thread was full of sh1t especially when his reply when challeneged about this was "prove to me that it won't work" and this now confirms that he is a total tool!

  arctic 182 black wheels
i'm gonna try this and also buy a motherboard nd replace my ecu!! clio will be running 400bhp lol

  e92 + E46 M3 + Cup
Every one knows that its not going to work... you need to put the fans on the rear bumper, works like a hover craft then you see, before you know it you'll be right up there with 400+bhp motors, better yet get 2 or 3 fans & your talking 0-60 in the 1-2 seconds

LOL :rasp:

lol

how stupid must 4 pc world coolant fans look cut into the TOP?! of the airbox?

the top of all places would mean it is pushing in UNFILTERED air right?

LOL @ All the Ridiculous Crap that occasionally pops up on here

Add one of those fans then reduce your cars weight by putting the rear seats down and you're well away to supercar trouncing performance.

Ive done this mod and it actually works guys!
ive also slotted RAM into the door handles so it can remember me when i open the car.

i actually drive my car with a CD instead of a steering wheel too. give better handling IMO.
my seats are made up of 45 stacked hard drives - more comfort and support on the corners.

guides will be up soon

The idea behind it works but obviously small fans will not do anything. I once saw a video of someone using a huge leaf blower to blow additional air in his engine. A before and after dyno showed around 20HP increase.

  Audi A3
might jus steal one of the engines and props off one of the aircraft at work and see how far that gets my 1.2 am sure it'll be a straight swap lolz
