Admiral do not like me.. £2.5k on an EP3. Kind of in line with most places.

Yep, Admiral, Elephant and Bell are the only companies that quoted less than £2k on the new car.
And they quoted a lot less in fact, £1380! Would of been less if my mother hadn't of had an accident (I have thought about charging her the extra, but since she brings it down £400 I wont).
Should be ok next year, the reason the specialists wouldn't touch me this year was lack of RWD experience

Same for me. R26 with bell £900, R26 with brentacre £1600. Although the brentacre one was a modified policy.
Yes all come under the EUI umbrella, as well as Diamond and confused.com
It's about £800 with Elephant for my GTI. Everywhere else was at least double that...

They probably take a hit on profits to gain market share. Then when the competition goes tits up, the price then increases. Boom, insta mega profits as there will be few places to go and they can dictate the prices.

were always cheapest for me when i had private insurance. My cousin just got her 1.2 16v clio covered with diamond for £750 ish, and the next best was double that

yup admiral are awesome. I've stuck with them for 6 years. Only problem being that some of their less 'english' call centers struggle with mods, one of them claiming that an induction kit was classed as a body kit?! only downside is that they wont cover me if i take my back seats out! I think they are quite cheap for mods too. 23 years old and exhaust, coilovers and filter put my policy up by about £75
according to my uncle who is a manager at admiral they are the only insurance company who are currently making a constant profit every year. i know that last year they had a target of x million new customers over 12 months and they acheived it in 6, theyre growing at such a rate theyre needing to look for bigger premises for call centres etc.

its a bit of a vicious circle tbh, admiral are able to quote cheaper as theyre in profit, the rest arent able to keep up and are hiking prices up to stay in profit, admiral keep upping the prices yet theyre still cheaper than their rivals, making more proffit, more customers, other companies lose customers, hike prices etc. etc.

Spot on. A friend of mine has basically the same driving experience, NCB and is the same age as me. We both got quotes for the same address on an EP3, and his came in at £900 and mine came in at £2500. I'm beginning to think they just don't like my name.
