Best colour for 182 .. 172

hi,

I know everyones personal prefence is different but id like to get a general feel for what people think is the best colour to go for. here is my opinions based on the 172/182 colours

Black:

Pros: Looks smart when Clean (especially when lowered 40mm ;))

Cons: Doesnt stand out as being an RS model (although twin pipes help on 182). Seen a few and could only tell because i saw the RenaultSport badge. Only when a few meters away from the front could i really notice much.

WineRed: (182??)

Pros: Looks tidy and neat, more of an expensive look. owning a 172 and seeing a winered one about makes me look because it seems rare. havent seen that many around (actually only 1)

Cons: Not many cons other than that classy isnt neccesarily sporty or racing. The only one i saw was driven by a grandad and it suited.

RacingBlue: (182)... sorry mondial blue (thanks leem)

Pros: Looks very simular to the cup colour and every time i see a cup it looks more purposeful and sporty (i know it probably is) but that colour really does stand out. Probably one of the very best colours

Cons: Every Fecker is going to have that colour who buys a 182. Its Been in Evo, topgear on Renaults website about the 182.. lots of other publications, Birmingham NEC where thousands saw that colour etc.. Also people will add stripes to this colour and stickers. If someone has Racing stripes on the same colour, you know that they think they are better than you if you dont.

IceSilver: (or whatever there calling it now)

Pros: Loos like a RS model from close and a distance. light seems to highlight flared arches and it looks more technical. in evening light with a lowered Icesilver travelling towards you with Blue Xenons, looks cool as feck.

Cons: Not so much hard to keep clean but hard to keep scraches from being visable. Loads of this colour on the road (although admitidly every one ive seen isnt modified and is being driven by slighty overweight office girls wanting a slim sporty image)... slighty dull colour actually.

Blue: (this is the darker normal blue)

Pros: Total sleeper

Cons: Total sleeper !

LiquidYellow:

Pros: Unique, noticble and identifies with being an RS model.

Cons: Is it a fiat abarth ? do you feel slight camp driving around in a really small bright yellow car. Big bird has one on order with a sunroof for his head.

... Future ...

Orange ???

Pros: Probably the lastest and last colour to come out for a car that is to be discontinued in 1-1.5yrs. Bound to attract only a hardcore few and wont be many sold by the time the current clio platform is ended. could look proper mean with Black alloys + tints.

Cons: Like yellow your advertising to the world what youve got. and if it isnt the lastest thing anymore it coould get tiresome.

Just a few of my own opinions, i know ive missed a few colours and the spelling is arse. Like to see what everone else thinks. BTW Gun Metal grey would be cool !

:D --phill--

Youve got the Blues wrong mate. Artic blue is the pearlescent blue which looks similar to Mondial blue in some lights.

Racing Blue is the one thats been used by mags and was shown at the motorshow. Its a solid, none metalic finish and looks nothing like Mondial Blue as used on the Cup.

I would have liked a gun metal grey also.

what blue would you go for Lee M ?? out of the two new choices.

it does seem like eveyones going for the Blues. and with the 172 it seemed like either Black or ICE

agree

WineRed: (182??) - not a 182 colour unfortunately

Pros: Looks tidy and neat, more of an expensive look. owning a 172 and seeing a winered one about makes me look because it seems rare. havent seen that many around (actually only 1)

Cons: Not many cons other than that classy isnt neccesarily sporty or racing. The only one i saw was driven by a grandad and it suited.

Pros: Looks very simular to the cup colour and every time i see a cup it looks more purposeful and sporty (i know it probably is) but that colour really does stand out. Probably one of the very best colours - this i think you do mean artic blue

- this you are talking about racing blue and is one of the rarest colours at the moment. totally disagree with you on the stripes, its all about who ahs the balls to put them on in the knowledge that it wont attract the wrong type of attention to their car, i dont have the stripes, but I dont see people who have them as being better and vice versa, its just a mod some people will take up, others wont be bothered.

IceSilver: (or whatever there calling it now) - Titanium

Pros: Loos like a RS model from close and a distance. light seems to highlight flared arches and it looks more technical. in evening light with a lowered Icesilver travelling towards you with Blue Xenons, looks cool as feck.?????????? not sure about this cool comment, think they all look cool with the xenons

Cons: Not so much hard to keep clean but hard to keep scraches from being visable. Loads of this colour on the road (although admitidly every one ive seen isnt modified and is being driven by slighty overweight office girls wanting a slim sporty image)... slighty dull colour actually. - agree with the first part but not the part about the office girls and dull colour

Blue: (this is the darker normal blue) - there is no darker blue in the 182, that was n the 172

Pros: Total sleeper

Cons: Total sleeper !???????????

LiquidYellow:

Pros: Unique, noticble and identifies with being an RS model. - agree

Cons: Is it a fiat abarth ? do you feel slight camp driving around in a really small bright yellow car. Big bird has one on order with a sunroof for his head. - totally disagree, looks nothing like a fiat as its a pearlescent colour not like the normal flat yellows. Nothing camp about a yellow car, is one of the best colours and is just nice and bold, you have some balls

... Future ...

Orange ???

Pros: Probably the lastest and last colour to come out for a car that is to be discontinued in 1-1.5yrs. Bound to attract only a hardcore few and wont be many sold by the time the current clio platform is ended. could look proper mean with Black alloys + tints. - i think they will seel quite a few of these and agree that they will look good with the anthracite wheels

Cons: Like yellow your advertising to the world what youve got. and if it isnt the lastest thing anymore it coould get tiresome. - not sure about that comment

I love yellow, my last car a megane coupe was yellow (i think that the best colour for the coupe was yellow) and the only reason i didnt have the 182 in yellow is because it wasnt an option when i bought mine.

yea Yellow or Racing blue for me... unless orange is avaliable hehe. Problem is my GF wont allow me to get yellow, obviously ive seen the pics and i like the colour but i havent seen one in the flesh. So it looks like iam gettin racing blue @ the mo.

Ive got an Arctic Blue one. Its the colour I liked most on it. My 172 was Monaco Blue so I seem to have a thing for blue cars.

I still would have liked a red on the 182 though.

Just my two cents:

I love the Arctic Blue colour

I think the Flame Red is a bit orangey, and would look better if it was a brighter colour.

Sorry but Ive never liked yellow cars (although that pearlescent yellow is the nicest Ive seen)

EVERYONE seems to have silver cars, thats why I didnt go for that, and I think the Monaco Blue is a bit dull for such a nice car (sorry to anyone who has that colour).

Its black all the way for me..so shiiiiiiny.

All ive ever seen is the blue (what ever colour we are calling it )...

Where I live (farnborough hants) ive seen 4 blue 172/182s

On my drive to work Ive seen Craig in his yellow one, a couple of silver and one Arctic Blue.

Common or not, I picked the colour I liked. I dont see the point in buying a colour you dont like as much just because its rare!
