Blow Torch Aluminium Welding

  BMW E34 540i
I am not sure whether it is the right place to ask this question but anyway I have few aluminium garden chairs which cracked on the welds where sitting part meets back support.

Was thinking to try to weld them myself since this will cost nearly nothing :)

Bought some of those http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aluminium...495?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item564b4b586f

Unfortunately it seems that my current blow torch gives too low temp (maybe the flame is not focused enough) the rods do not melt at all. I started to browse ebay for some other blow torch. Most of the good ones costs 70 quid + but I found below one:

Seems OK but my question is where can I get suitable gas canister for it ? I asked the seller for the cartridge type but no answer thus maybe anyone here will have an idea ?

Any help appreciated.

I tried it and had the exact same issue. I never bothered to try Mapp gas but they sell it in B&Q, although it's twice the price of propane/butane canisters

Go to a local plumbers merchants. B & Q charge a fortune for the gas. MAPP gas burns really well and hot. We use it at work when soldering 35mm and bigger fittings.

Your pi**ing in the wind without oxygen n accetalene bottles and a proper welding nozzle if its for anything half structural really.
