Bottom arms when buying a clio

  1.6 Clio, 330Ci Bmw
Are the bottom arms something to look at when buying a clio as my first car, a 1.2 mk2 had badly corroded arms which on one morning going to work failed and I ended rolling the car over.
I have just recently bought a 1.6 mk2 and while doing a brake service noticed there are holes in the bottom arms ( it was motd 3 months ago and this wasn't even the worst thing I found )
Should you check for original bottom arms when buying a clio?

I wouldn't let it put me off even if I did check them and They were shagged. They are cheap as chips to replace

Holes in them seems a bit extreme though, that's a lot of metal to rust through

£50 a piece?!?? You must have been royally ripped off.
£21 each from Eu but I get trade discount from when I was a trainee at a local garage
Already fitted, just need to get an alignment tomorrow and all will be good again. Until they tell me all my tyres are naff

Never bought any for a 1.6 it was just a guess. Genuine for my 172 are around 70 a pop.
