That's cheap. Really really want one of these kits. But I just don't 'need' it lol. Got all the same tools, just laying around and separate which is annoying.

Just popped down & picked one of these up! Been meaning to get one for a while but always miss the deal. I will add for people as stupid as me that the £60 price is online only so reserve & collect!

Oh man, I've just reserved one at that price, be rude not to.
Thanks for the tip.

Any offers on the bb tool chests?

Seems to be missing a hell of a lot of spanners that you would want when working on a clio compared to the 150 piece one.

Epic value still though like all their reduced stuff tends to be.

Bought the 170 piece set for £125, down from £250!

I really like the Halfords Advanced stuff, it's not quite as nice as Snap-On obviously, but lifetime warranty more than makes up for it.

I quite like the release buttons on the ratchet, wish my snap-on stuff had one as it can be a pain getting sockets off when your hands are greasey where as its easy with the halfords set.

What are halfords like for swapping stuff without the original receipt? My old man bought me the 150 piece one last year, however the hinges have broke on the case and the gimp never kept the receipt :(

I snapped a torx piece and just walked into halfords with it and showed the fella at the till and without asking for a receipt or anything he goes off and gets a brand new one of the shop wall.

I might chance it at the weekend then :)

I'm looking at the 170 piece kit now. Is there anything obviously missing from the kit that might be needed for general work on a Clio (or any other car really)?

Seems to have all sockets covered, and enough spanners!

The 170 is a really good set by the looks of it, only slight issue with it is the spanners being ratchets as it does mean they arent as strong if you need to really free something off that is seized, but other than that I think you will be well happy with that.

I have a couple of the 150 variants that I used as my just general use socket set when working on the car and one I take to trackdays, and very rarely do I need to go to my main tool cupboard for any sockets/spanners that arent in it TBH.

You have a couple of the 150 kits lol!! Is one not good enough ;P

Thanks, that what I was after. Seeing as I don't 'need' the actual tools and it's just nice to have them all together in one box rather than stealing the old mans. I didn't want to buy a kit and then find out I need to buy loads of other tools to make it complete enough to be stand alone from my dads tool draw.

Technically 3 of the 150 set, and I have quite a lot of other sets knocking around as well, but in terms of the 150s Ive got one on the wall in the garage so its easy access, one that I leave in the little workshop where I build engines, and one that I leave in my van. Gets boring carrying socket sets from one place to another and we got such a good deal on them it was silly not to pick up a few.

Ive got a lot of other tools as well though, so 3 socket sets is only the tip of the iceberg really, but its been my hobby for a long time now building various different project cars so makes sense for me but wouldn't for someone just wanting to fix their daily.

Yeah its ideal for that sort of use, although ive got thousands of pounds of tools including air tools and specialist mapping equipment and all sorts of other things and yet STILL I end up occasionally needing to pop next door and borrow something from my old man!

I wish the Halfords 150 piece had come with a deep 16mm or room to clip extras in. It's something I find myself needing most out of items not included.
