Have i lost all my Photos???

Laptop went on the brink last night after my daughter put a CD from her school leaving party, the computer went to some strange set up pages and then restored itself to original factory settings.
Now i cant get my wireless to work and i have lost all my photos programs ect except a video side show i made??? is there anyway of restoring this???

possibly yes, some restore procedures backup the old filesystem to a new folder.
What it sound slike is youve ghosted a new image back over your partition.
You MAY be very lucky and be able to get some back with a prog similar to activeundlete or photorec but it requires booting of a usb / cd or taking that hd out and putting in another machine as u may be risking them overwriting data by booting up off that hd
