Hello from a new owne with some questions alreadyr!

  Clio 172
Hi all

Finally bit the bullet and bought myself my first Clio! She has a few mods on her already (including K-Tec coilovers, and a few engine bits and pieces that I wont bore you all with), but also came with a few body modifications from the odd kerb... What is the best way of picking up a new bumper and wing?

I think I could repair both the wing and bumper and get it primed, but my painting skills wouldnt be good enough yet to get a perfect match. Have I any chance of picking up a second hand wing and bumper already in this colour?? trying to do this as most cost effectively as possible!

Also, its not Christmas any more, so the dash lights contantly showing an airbag light and service light need addressing. the car does need a service (its at 80k miles at present, the major bits including cambelt, waterpump etc have all been done). Would a service from most non-Renault garages be able to reset the service light?

the airbag light is on as apparently the previous owner changed the seats then changed them back when he sold it. Could this be as simple as just an ecu reset to clear this or is it likely to be more complicated?

Thanks all

Andy

If you sign up as a member on here you can view the car parts for sale section. people are always breaking cars and selling the parts on here for good prices most of the time.

Finding them in that colour isn't going to be the easiest thing. Wing will be easier than bumper but most of the Cup crashes tend to be face first.

A specialist for the service etc would be your best bet. You've got Mark Fish/JMS fairly close to you. They'll just plug your car into the diagnostics thing and see what the problem with the light is. It's more than likely a loose wire. Have you tried having fiddle under the seats etc?

Thanks for your help, everybody! Really appreciated, guys. Is Mark Fish/JMS one and the same thing? Are they Kent based? Will see if i can find on here through a trader link or something.

Ive sent cliospares.co.uk a mail to see if they have any in the colour. Can appreciate what Revels has said though about most of them being front end crashed! They are a bit hairy in this icy weather, so I could see how an inexperienced driver or someone even without their wits about them could lose one fairly easily.

Welcome fellow Cup man. Your colour is Mondial Blue, special Cup colour but there are different batches of this colour so youll never get a perfect match. Ebay do have some body parts for sale. Mark Fish is in Harlow and JMS in Uxbridge.

Thanks, Sootie. Think I will strip the damaged panels off in the New year then, repair them myself and get a garage to respray them if i dont feel brave enough to respray them myself!
