l.e.d. interior light stays on

hi guys ive tried 2 different brands of 501 white l.e.d. and both seem to stay on very dim when the interior light is switched off , but doesnt do it with the map light ? also normal bulbs dont do this , anyone else had this problem ? its a ph2 172 btw

Normal. The LED needs less power to make it illuminate, hence why it doesn't light up a normal bulb. But the power always goes through there.

It's one of the problems with LED lamps. They don't have enough resistance in them to stop it causing a fault in the loom. Sometimes they flash or flicker or just stay on, sometimes they just don't work at all. If you really want LED's in you car, it's worth buying the more expensive ones as they have special internals that stop it happening.

Clios don't have CANBUS, so it won't cause a fault in the loom. It just so happens that that power flows through there anyway as part of the dimming circuit iirc.

lol , its not doing any harm. neither going to drain your battery :eek:

if you really wanted to be fussy, put a resistor in but imo its not worth the hassle.

Mine do it and their not cheap lamps, never had a problem and you can only notice a slight glow at night
