Loss of peak power

  megane 285 sport
Just a quick one, recenty had my 197 rolling roaded at tdf, previously there when mapped got 198.8bhp, then 5 months again with the cs lot got 197bhp which matt put down to tolerences etc, but yesterday got 188 bhp, even matt said at the time it wasnt running as it should. We had a quick dicussion, and was told that my exhust knock when changing gear could effecting the knock sensor and trimming fuel/back as it was running lean. Anyone have any experience with this with there 197 or 1*2.

The knock sensor can affect bhp it relates to the timing, when i had mine mapped at rstuning i was told i had a slight knock which was been picked up by the knock sensor and it was slightly affecting the bhp, im talking about a few bhp max but yours has dropped 10bhp which is a hell of alot

I dont now mate, the rollers automatically calculate to fly power, i did read on here someone with a dodgy knock sensor and lost 20bhp

think i may of found the problem if any one could confirm, i removed my panel filter to find it was covered in flys and crap, could this cause a 10bhp loss in power?

i normally take the filter out every 3 months or so and wipe the flys and lumps of crap off, but it was put off for longer this time, alot more on there plus never gave it a proper wash to get any dust deep within the foam and re oil.
