As above, was running fine, then parked up for couple of hours and now idles really lumpy (the whole block shaking really badly) and he says its got no power when changing from first to second. Revs fine above idle but doesn't clear up when warm.

Also gases from exhaust have noticeable gap in the flow (put put putting like a steam engine - sorry for crap description).

Any ideas?

Check the temperatre gauage is staying steads then check coil's (thankfully thee all seperate so you can unplug one at a time) then check the TDC sensor.

Possibly a temp sensor as said. Does it seem like its running on 3 cyldiners. If its still missing its a pencil coil mate, even when warm they can do it.

You can take it too a garage they'd probably go straight to them or if you can do it yourself. Turn ignition off, take off engine cover, take out the 4X10mm bolts that are holding the coils in (above the spark plugs 4 in a row) and start it up, in turn lift each coil, see if it makes any difference to the engine tone. You should also be able to hearing going 'gudududududduga' (Ie, 'sparking')

Cheers all. Seems its the coils which have gone (well one anywho). Anyone know how much this will cost from the stealers and if my bro's harmony extended warranty will cover it?

1.4 16V Fred not the cup. They're around £35/36 from stealers, I'd check ebay. Hint Hint

Depends how old the car is and if its had them before, they might pay 50% etc
