  Clio 182 Trophy 047/500
I have spoken to this guy direct a couple of times, what he doesn't know about the different options of lense's isnt really worth knowing.

Prices are amazing havent been able to find anywhere that can match them.

Personally i would only ever go Cannon for the batteriers, I have a Kodak Aftermarket battery which is fine but loses its charge very quickly.

Have you had a look at the Cannon Battery Grip

http://www.cameraworld.co.uk/ViewPr...05E000011&Prod_name=Canon BG-E3 for 350D/400D

They are on offer at the moment, I bought one a couple of weeks back, they take two cannon batteries and also make it a lot easier to take portrait images as they have a shutter release on the grip.

Not a bad price but I think you can get them slighty cheaper else where.

As soon as the card arrives start playing with all the features so you know what the camera can do.

I went out on Boxing day with mine and took about 400 pics out of those I think 20 came out ok.

I tend to leave mine of TV setting. Find it easy to set the camera up to take pics no matter what the weather.

This was taken on a really wet day all i did was set the camera up so it left the sensor open for longer, to let more light in.

Vice versa I made sure the sensor was open for a shorter period of time so as to not allow to much light in and blow the image.

i have found i have a greasy nose :(

had it connected to the pc and taken a few snaps but seeing as its a dark room they look bloody nasty

LOL I found that when I first started using it, that and for some reason constantly pressing the buttons with my nose.

If the images are coming out to dark eaither use the flash, or leave the shutter open for longer. What ISO Setting you using. The higher the ISO the better the image will come out in a darker area, downside is you will notice the image is not a sharp.

Ideally you will set the ISO to the lowest setting I think mine is always on 400, and work around the lighting issue, by using a tripod and leaving the shutter open for longer like 1/3rd sec or in worst case leave it open for 3secs.

oh i was just messing but my boss was getting annoyed by the flash going off so i had to start taking them without flash

can really start playing when my 50mm f1.8 arrives

Ah the problem you have there is you have taken the image with a large light source behind you.
You should always make sure the bright light source is infront of you or to one side, that way you will light the subject (in this case you are the subject) as opposed to casting a shadow which you have done in the pic above.

The best thing about DSLR's are the trail and error benefits you have. Are you taking a lap top with you on your Honey Moon, if so you can upload all the images you take and free the card up for more pics.

One thing I would always advise is to take to many shots with different settings rather than one , if you use the camera screen to review the shot you cant be 100% certain the pic is a) Clear and not blurred, b) the right colour tones.

If you shoot in RAW Image setting the Image color tone is not so important as you can play around with this once the image is on the computer using the Darkroom software thats included.

RAW Will use a large amount of space on the memory cards, but well worth doing if you have the space.

If you have photoshop and you have taken a pic in standard LJPEG and it comes out Blue, you have the ability to adjust slightly but it may not be perfect.

Congrats on the cam, now the harrrrd work begins :p

Took me 10 months to honestly say I could use the damn thing, even then I still get myself in situations where I have to over ride the camera and go fully Manual but I still screw up!

Here's some basic tutorials

I rate this one the best, although when I first read it, it all went over my head, wish I'd spent more time on it..

It's for the XT but its all relevant, the parts on the metering modes are an essential read...

Saying that, I think ukaskews sticky is one of the best thing you can read
