NZ Clio 172 - build thread

Ha can't wait to see your car. All internals, tar, half dash, gutted headlights, brackets, etc. Going to go for a PAS delete I think - arm strong steering.

Shivers, you must have arms like Tarzan! Considered EPAS?

I reckon it will be ok. A few others seem to be ok without it.

Plastic windows to be made from 3mm polycarbonate. Glass side windows weigh 3kg each with rubber trims. Manfield times running around 1.24.5

More weight saving been going on. Even the handbrake is gone. Exhaust out - mild steel sections being replaced with SS. Bonnet hinges gone. Started making a splitter with left over polycarb.

PMS PAS delete fitted as well. Absolutely fine on track with 360mm steering wheel. Lap times still falling.

SS dairy tube exhaust is in. Cat and mid resonator are out, cost me $100 to get it tig’d up & $80 for two vbands. ABS is out and custom brake lines made and fitted. Bought a double flare tool and 3/16 tube bender to do the job. Much cheaper than premade.
