Omex rev limiter small help needed!

  Rs clio 172
hey, im thinking about purchasing a omex rev limiter for my 172 mk2 but im asked whether my car is an single coil or twin coil :S so i end up getting the right one. I agree i don't have much knowledge of this so please can anyone help? cheers :D

if it's the omex that offers launch control then yes it's a fairly good idea, but i don't see why you can't use your left and right foot to dump the clutch whilst you hold the revs at X :p

Well why do people buy them then? Must be some reason or else they wouldn't be on the market
errrrrrr

you do realise that there are cars without limiters , stuff with electronic ignition and carbs

things running older stand alone ecus on older race engines etc

i had one on my first caterham you would not fit one to a clio 172 that had a standard ecu.

the fact you could but why would you ?

set limiter on omex to 5k , go to carpark , impress mates with your "antilag" like system

cry to your mum when your car no longer runs

very special needs

Rev limiter as in shift light ??

I fitted one to mine for doing quarters so that it lights up warning when to change gear without getting to the point of hitting the rev limiter.

Get the torque app and a Bluetooth dongle and use that as a shift light. Has a beep as well. You can't miss a giant smart phone screen going red. Why not use a tablet? How big do you want to go! SHIFT!!

Twin coil is the one you need.

Red to the coil pack live
blue to one of the coil pack wires
other blue to the other coil pack wire,
black to earth

dont run one of these silly things with a cat either

why every car with a cat runs a rev limiter now ?

its not the limiter that kills cat converters its flooring the throttle against a limiter and letting it pop and bang that will kill it , you can do that off the limiter you have now if you wish .

You can but I dont know any one who would.
like you say we all know what these things going to be used for, sitting in car parks doing "pops and bangs" rather than their intended use

The omex one will kill the car faster as it's a spark cut rather than a fuel cut like the standard limiters.

My supercharged one would pop a few pops and flames if I wanted it to, soft cut ign limiter lol.
