Replacement radiator

The rad in my 172 track car looks a little ropey so in order to ensure continued reliability I'd like to swap it over the winter.
Which rads and from where have people used before? I dont want to buy one and have it blow its tanks!
Cheers

Don't think I've ever fitted a genuine radiator and tbh with Renault prices being regularly in excess of vw and audi I'll not be going near a dealership.

I fitted a Nissen rad ( & condenser ) purchased from my local Andrew Page outlet 1st October and had no problems other than the captive nuts on the rad where positioned incorrectly in respect of the condenser, not a great problem,as the correct mounting points were present.
AP Part no`s are 94279 for rad,& 63768 for condenser.
I`ve had no problems with either unit, despite being caught in some motorway jams, where the pressure does build up.
Not cheap as chips at £72 a piece i/c vat,but good quality IMO

If it were me I'd either go genuine or for a Nissens radiator :).

If you want pricey radiators try £330 for a Porker 944 rad (or £230 (maybe more now) for an NRF rad (Read a Porsche with with the insignia scrubbed off))), or £550 for a Misubishi 3000GTO radiator and they are near enough dealer only on the later variants.

On my first 944 I had to change the rad ; Jesus I held my breath as I bought that from ECP!

Don't use the Euro Car Parts one if you want to fit the standard fan back on.
The casing/pressings on the ECP rad are slightly wider and the Renault fan unit fouls the lower rad hose. I bought a slim line fan from McGill Motorsport to counter the issue - works fine now

You don't need to buy the genuine Renault one, I got a replacement about five years ago and it's been fine. I'll dig out the brand later, Fred told me about them (when he was around that is).

There are a couple of track day orientated all aluminium 55mm deep rads about for around £170.
Available on Amazon or from Direnza.
