Well Another day and Another job on the Clio to sort out:sob:.With all the rain that we have been having i have come to the realization, that the window wipers that were on the car when I purchased it are fit for one thing "THE BIN":tongueclosed:.

I measured them up and picked up a set of Bosch ones for a £10 which I thought was reasonable,I prefer the look of them compared to the flat style wipers, and as long as they clear the screen well I think I will be onto a winner:up:.

Plans are going well. Interested to see where you end up with this
Put it this way mate if things go according to plan it will have a wastegate and actuator on the engine end of this year beginning of next maybe sooner, and you know what essential part comes with those two:wink:.i will have to see how money is.SJ.

Well another payday and another spending spree, the brakes that the man said was practically new when I purchased the car are looking...well kind of past it:fearscream:, so I decided to upgrade the rears with some Brembo disc and pads.I still have not made my mind up on what front brakes to upgrade too but will definitely be looking four pots.I was looking at the brembo calipers that I notice quite a few members have got and are very reasonably priced, but my only concern is that they require modification to fit under 15 inch wheels plus they only fit under certain style 15 inch wheels. Being a Subaru man in the know:cool:and used to running brembo calipers the only problem that you get with the chunky brembos is that they retain heat too much so I was thinking more on the lines of getting a smaller caliper for the job that can disperse heat better without getting heat soaked, their is no doubt that the brembo's are a superb caliper...but I have had issues with them on track before where their was so much heat that the gold turned white and had to be refurbished for my wife's Scooby, that's when I upgraded to the mighty ap calipers on my Subaru.I ordered a set of B14 suspension:stig:as the car will be primarily For track, the idea will be to sort out the chassis and brakes then turn my attention to the engine.Anyway that's enough waffling:smile:,here is some pictures of my collected parts.

oh one more thing....I managed to pick up a set of four 15 inch Yokies for the bargain price of 250 English pounds "Result"
20160215_161100_zpstgbizc2n.jpg

All i need now is to decide what wheels that I fancy:tearsofjoy:.Well that's all for now folks I'm just about to go and tackle my very Hazed headlights with the 3M restoration kit,I will update my thread with the results another time when I am finished.Peace!!!.SJ.

Another job finished:sweat:.The headlights on my Clio were in a bad way hardly emitting any light through the covers,I noticed that it was a problem even for the previous owner as it was an advisory on the last 3 mot's,whether that be down to his lack of knowledge,or two he just was not bothered, going by the condition that I purchased the car in I would go for the later:tongueclosed:.Anyway products and tools that were used:3m restoration kit,a drill, soapy water in a spray bottle, high quality microfibers, and Autoglym HD wax for the UV protection.I did not take much pics during as me and the wife was dodging the rainy weather:down:but still took some before and afters.....
how the car started:fearscream:.

Both sides completed and two coats of Autoglym HD wax for the UV protection and one coat on the car body for luck:up:...

The 3m offering is a very good restoration kit and I highly recommend it,I give it two thumbs up :up:.
A beadage shot of Autoglym HD wax for those members who get turned on by that stuff "like me".

Excellent start to the project buddy. I will be watching this, as for upgrading the brakes I went with the brembos from a megane 225, but I run 16" wheels but my friend who has a Renault 5GTT has done the brembos under 15 wheels, I am sure you can get different brackets to suit wheel size. :)

Cheers buddy:up:,I do rate the brembo calipers but they are a bulky caliper and I am 100% sure that the body will need machining down on the shoulders to fit 15"inch wheels properly.SJ.

Thanks mate:up:.I will always love Renaults :hearteyes:and will be bringing this project "Betsy3" up to a high standard, that I have done with all of my project cars.Renault was the first brand that gave me my first taste of turbo power when I drove my friends Gordini turbo, which then made me buy my R5gtt which I got rebuilt, and upgraded most parts on it,in the early 90's their was not much that could touch it:cool:....

Just a quick update on my baby Clio project in one word "SLOW"😅.I have been trying to juggle 3 project cars at the same time which is getting a bit hard, but I have now started to pick up a few more parts for the Clio again. My half roll cage turned up and my uprated engine mounts.I have decided to try and do the suspension and interior first then brakes and engine last, its gonna be slow going but will try and pick up the odd part to keep chipping away at it.The roll cage is going to the powder coaters on the weekend, still trying to decide what Colour any suggestions are welcome:fearscream:LOL...

Are you thinking of doing any track days soon mate? Not sure where you based but would be great to meet you
That's the plan buddy:up:but I need to get at least one of the cars finished first as they are all at differing levels of completion but all three cars are built for track fast road:stig:,two are mine and my wife has her Subaru which Bob Rawle has to come down next month to map,I am from Surrey.SJ.

Another small job finished...I needed to change my rear number plate as it was cracking and getting dirt ingress under the plastic, and it was also a mark on the MOT advisory sheet,so I ordered some new ones with a smaller one for the front...
