Re: My PH1 172

A little bit of an up date, so the new water pump is fitted along with new bolts and a new aux belt kit.
Ive replaced the leaking PAS pump along with an oil, filter, a set of spark plugs and the correct Renault coolant.. :D

Re: My PH1 172

Thanks mate, its getting there. I have ordered the bulkhead trim (black felt behind the engine) its on back order so should be with me in 10 days or so.

I will also get the inlets, alt brackets and the other alloy bits powder coated at some point (prob in the winter)

Re: My PH1 172

Fog lights fitted, so much better than the old ones.

Before.

After.

20130610_202604_zpsd73d2f64.jpg

There was also a few bits around the car that i was not happy with.

The fuse box cover, yes its a small mark but it annoyed me.

20130613_185350_zpse00a6fef.jpg

So i bought a new one.

20130613_185947_zpse5066dfb.jpg

The boot trim.

20130613_185243_zpsec7006cf.jpg

So i bought a new one.

20130613_190120_zpsed8fad37.jpg

The air filter housing is a pain in the ass the remove and re-fit so over the years its been scratched to hell.

20130613_185435_zps65d5d2f8.jpg

I bought a new one and ive also got a black silicone Forge hose to fit so it will make it 100 times better to remove in the future.

20130613_190015_zps5a884565.jpg

20130613_190027_zps0ec6bc22.jpg

And the biggest thing was the engine bay bulk head fire wall/heat shield thing which looked a right mess and the black stuff kept on coming off.

20130613_185504_zps2ab6d1cf.jpg

I had to wait 10 days for it to come into the country and i knew it was not going to be a nice job to fit but it just had to be done.

20130613_185851_zpscdaac2bf.jpg

So tonight i started to strip down the engine bay down to fit the new engine bay trim, lucky enough my AC needs a re-gas as it had to be disconnected.

It was a bit tight but i got there in the end, once i get my inlets powder coated later in the year the engine bay will look great. :D

All removed at last.

20130614_204037_zps7bbc1dfa.jpg

So much better.

Nice one pal. Looks great :) nice to see it being refreshed.... I'm sure renault parts would think the same too!

See you went for a forge 90degree bend in the end. Any reason over samco?

Thanks Mark, i did see the Samco ones but being a bit dumb i thought it was only available in blue and tbh i think they are both the same just a name change.

After buying the Forge one (which was about £4 cheaper) i saw that the Samco also come in different colours. Derr!!

Re: My PH1 172

Good stuff mate. Slightly nuts but good effort! How much was the firewall? I either need to do mine or buy nimbus

OCD is a killer mate, the fire wall was £100 and a 10 day wait. You might be best buying the Nimbus.

Cheers for the comments. :)

Re: My PH1 172

The both door handles had cracked so i bought a pair of new ones but Renault had change the design so i also had to get the new type of screws.

Old type with the counter sunk screw which is the cause of the cracking.

The new design and screw.

Re: My PH1 172

Well after doing alot of work on the Clio i also bought a Cup spoiler, so it was off to Chris @ Autocrash for it to be painted.

Not the best pict as it was getting dark.
20130621_205559_zpseab99d27.jpg

I then set about getting the car ready for CSS, i cleaned under the wheel arches.
20130616_163844_zpsb1c28461.jpg

Waxed wheels using AF Soul.
20130617_185306_zps3e14ed4d.jpg

Also got a bit carried away and removed the AC pipe which i polished with the Megs metal polish.
20130617_085102_zps327fd111.jpg

I then gave the car a going over with AF Tripple with a black hex logic pad and my DA.

20130620_203752_zps5e532855.jpg

20130620_203804_zpsa63187ee.jpg

I then finished it off with AF Illusion wax, AF Revive for the plastic trims i also bought AF Tough coat and Gtechniq C2V3.

Ive only used the C2V3 on the bonnet.

Re: My PH1 172

Just seen this mate, car looks great, I am on the look out for a Phase 1, just hope I can find one as good. Don't worry about being 37 mate, I am 40 and probably look silly driving mine, but do I care NO, my mates who have driven my car fully understand the love for these little cars. Really wish I had of seen the car at Css.
