Here you go mate -

Date of Liability 01 03 2011
Date of First Registration 26 04 2001
Year of Manufacture 2001
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1998CC
CO2 Emissions 146g/Km
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Licence Not Due
Vehicle Colour BLUE
Vehicle Type Approval M1

Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle
6 Months Rate £68.75
12 Months Rate £125.00

so it seems it is correct.

What was the reg of your old one?

If it was registered after the cut off point in 2001, then it'll be on the new system, which ultimately costs more :(

h13 lmc WAS REG'D IN aPRIL 2001 according to the DVLA, so will be on the new system which is done on emmissions. (Anything reg'd after 1.3.2001)

How can a 2.0 be £125 per year tax??

The other car -

Date of Liability 01 12 2010
Date of First Registration 08 05 2000
Year of Manufacture 2000
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1998CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Licence Not Due
Vehicle Colour SILVER
Vehicle Type Approval

Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle
6 Months Rate £112.75
12 Months Rate £205.00

must be as said, due to the system change over?

Unless it's a 2.0 conversion?

Unless it's had a bigger engine put in at some point? So it's still got the tax band for the smaller (original) one but the bigger one has been notified to the DVLA.

No idea mate, I'm assuming it's the difference in the old and new tax (emissions) system?

The 2000 reg'd one has no emissions recorded.

There doesn't seem to be any other engine size in the Clio which has 146g/Km. Looks like it's just been entered incorrectly into the DVLA system.

The cost of vehicle tax for cars, motorcycles, light goods vehicles and trade licences

Calculate the cost of vehicle tax for your vehicle using the tables below. The tables contain the rates of vehicle tax for the different tax classes, together with tax class (TC) codes to distinguish them.
The rates shown apply to tax discs taken out from 1 April 2010.

Cars registered before 1 March 2001 (based on engine size)

Private/light goods (TC11)
Engine size (cc)
12 months rate
6 months rate
Not over 1549
£ 125.00
£ 68.75
Over 1549
£ 205.00
£ 112.75

Cars registered on or after 1 March 2001 (based on fuel type and CO2 emissions)

The rates shown only apply to cars that have been type approved in category M1 and registered on the basis of CO2 emissions measured in grams per kilometre (g/km) driven. These details are shown on the registration certificate (V5C).
Vehicle tax rates for cars registered on or after 1 March 2001 are split into 13 bands depending on CO2 emissions. The amount you'll pay depends on which band your car is in. The lower a car’s emissions, the lower the vehicle tax payable on it.
Standard Rates - The following table contains the rates of vehicle tax for already registered cars.
