The Lunar Grey Mk1 Hybrid Project



I thought I'd commented about this thread earlier, mustn't have sent it!

Looks fecking mint this project, can't believe I've not seen this thread before! Love the colour, red wheels would look awesome on it.

ok today we got the wilwoods on... took much longer than expected due to all eight bleed nipples being gunked up....nice! still need a propper bleed will do so when we get the 5.1 fluid in. only running dot4 atm.


sorted all earth problems we've had since respray. Turns out id bolted an earth to an alloy mount... tit!


started strip down of interior ready for cage installation soo removed all carpet and sound proofing. will be pulling dash out tomorrow. JOY... this is gonna be a fun job. lol.


Then that will proberly be the end of the updates for the while... while i save for the next stage of the car... getting cage fitted. then painted.

firstly removed the top dash

well you get the idea.. we had a good chat over a bad coffee from the vending machine and discussed the next stage of the car which is the cage... and what the colour code should be...


but we have got everything out ready for cage fitting. will update more then.


car drives now anyway.. gave her a quick rip about in the industrial estate as i missed her power :)


we have left the loom in, this will be removed for painting..


thats it for now folks.

Yep I've had lots of fun just building the car so far lol

Yes will be painting the Interior after the cage is fitted :)

Just trying to decide on colour scheme?!

Ok sabelt seat was refunded as it was taking too long :-( so more cash to spunk on shell

After bleeding my 4 pots thought I better just check level of fluid.

Wait a minute I don't remember the reservoir being that close to the engine

dedication! the colour looks like the one used on the escort rs turbos, dunno if the fiesta used it too

be good to see it finished, looks like lot of man hours spent on it!

Ok quick update:-

After ripping my top mount in half

I replaced it with a nice new KTR uprated mount

Then thought as its Xmas eve I'll do summit to get me out the house (humbug I hate Xmas lol)

So primered up 1 wheel with red oxide primer

Then applied coat of capsicum red

That's it now will fit it up when dry. Then it's off for cage to be fitted :)

dont think the red wheels suit it mate! i reckon anthracite or some other dark grey wheels will look alot better, possibly with polished lip

Quite liking the red. Was gonna do black wheels but thought it may look bland...but I think the caPsicum red wheels along with the cage the same should look ok....

Lol coilies are on the list...but Williams fitmebt are harder to find

I have some avo ones that only have 100 miles or so on since being refurbed. But...they're on my white Volvo project. And I'm not splitting......hint hint ;-)

Car looks amazing!

Didn't like it rob, fit wassnt great either. So back to O.E :)
Some days you looked at it and thought ...that looks amazing and others when you just thought...oh dear god lol

Loved reading every minute of this!! Epic build, you must be growing money on trees or something though?! Love my MK1 Ph3 Clio, only 1.4 but will deffinatly get a Valver or Williams one day!
Will contiune to read this, keep at it. Amazing.

Huuugeeee update /not

Had an accident at work with a table saw...yeh it's as good as it sounds :-( so I'm out of action :-(

Car has been booked in for rollcage fitting and interior paint in 2 weeks:)

Right not much of update but car is now on another trailer off to another fabricators and bodyshop to get its roll cage fitted and painted!

Gonna cost a bit more but at least I know it's gonna be done right
