Thule Roof Bar Kit Issue

How do.

Tonight I have (attempted) to fit a Thule roof bar kit to the 172.

All went on seemingly well, but they don’t seem to “grip” the roof very well. I’ve followed the instructions, and tightened the footpack up as much as it’s going to go, but it’s still not having it.

With a moderate shove, they’ll slide out of position on the car, enough that I’d be worried about using them.

It’s a cold night, and the car was a little frosty, my only guess is the rubber feet are sliding on any surface frost?

Anyone had anything like this?

Hi did you measure the gap between the bars from centre to centre?

Ah ok I had problems with the rear bar slipping but it was because I was measuring the gap between rather than the centre line of each foot. Meaning the rear bar was too far back and wouldn’t grip. Also have you tried tightening a little bit each side so one side doesn’t pull the other off ?
Once on properly mine have never moved even with a DH bike on then carriers
