Close up of the pax seat area, you can see the eng wiring loom + ecu under the head and alternator in a cm or 2 of water.

About time Fred lost his God status on the forum now me thinks??? Like ffs, I wouldn't give this abortion to anyone.

  Hi comp phase 1
Least you managed to get the it back! Onwards and upwards  I feel you pain :tired:

I check back on here time to time, disgusting the state of your car still mate!

Also what's with most Clio specialists just going to s**t these days? Flavour of the months and all that!

I'd be talking to engine dynamics, logistically they aren't too far from you? They've also been about years so hopefully won't stitch you up again. Hopefully you'll have your car back on the grid one day :)

That is a shambolic state to receive the car back in!

Yes, completely gutted when I saw it after its 18 mths stay with Fred.

Sure! now I've got over the initial WTF hand in head crying , you've shagged my missus feeling.....looking forward now.

Seems that being a trader on here doesn't guarantee good service at all.
Hoping to try and get something sorted this year - hopefully.

It all just a ballache, and a Fkn nuisance.
Too true!
What the f!!!! A shambles!

Didn't realise what a state it would be in when I finally picked it up.

Not good at all Pete...

Whats the plan of action now then?

As above realistically ED are not far from you and maybe a good "realstic" option.

Going to let the dust settle, got a bit left to do on the house which will take me to June. In the meanwhile going to make a few phone calls and set a day or two aside to sort out the mess inside and get a better picture of what's what and the serviceability of the parts - for instance the alternator has been sitting in water, gone rusty and suspect will need to be replaced.

All I've done so far is root through to make sure all I know should be there is - which it all seems to be. Apart from the Lapel piston rings which at £230 cost could do with finding.

In it's present state I can't take\give it to any one to sort as they'll be even more lost than I.

OK, help a friend with his new £800 track toy...new front disc's pads, poly bushing dog bone etc...

I've not been in here in a while... f**king hell, that's a sorry state. Unacceptable.

Hopefully the water hasn't caused any electrical headaches. Best of luck getting it going again.

Ah, a momento of my custom..

All done here, foreground are some bits that aren't mine. Lots of rubbish and now it's all in some order of sorts.

#17 is now ready to depart for the 3rd engine builder...who I now can't get hold of...hmm history repeating it's self maybe. Flol.

Don't get me wrong sounds a good and the sensible option Tony but when having had 217 NA, going back to a std 172 just ...won't cut it. More powwwwerrrrr......do have another std engine in the stable ready to go. Plus have forged bits etc ready to go for the block etc in the boot now,

Whats it with all the flywheels Pete?

I'm not sure why Fred gave me 3 extra ones - However I'm hoping the one with the bolts in is mine and I'll get rid of the spare ones after it's all up and running.
Think I've now got 7 exhaust manifold gaskets - the metal ones that go against the block and other extras that'll go once it's all back together.
Dropping it of tomorrow 23rd July.
