Wheels Refurbished

  Clio Sport 182
Got ma wheels refurbished today @ The Wheel Specialist in East Kilbride.
The wheels were not in the best of condition when i bought the car, plus they were silver (nae cup suspension pack). I was willing to put up wae them for a wee while till i had the cash to get new alloys or a refurb done. Last week though, I had to swerve to avoid a Land Rover n ended up kirbing 1 of ma alloys. Was gutted, it was a bad yin. :(

Decided to sell ma marine tank to get some funds to spend on the motor.

Planned to spend the cash on a alloy refurb so leaving me cash to get an exhaust . Went n seen the guys at TWS in ek. The staff were great! and the price seemed reasonable. I just had to decide on a colour. Spent a few days trying to decide, but ended up going for gloss back.

Spent all day today worrying about how it would look, thinking i should have stayed safe n went for anthracite. Although when i went n picked it up, i was pleased i'd went for the black. they looked great! :)

Took a couple of pics on ma phone, not the best quality.

Need to get it lowered next, but that will need to wait.

£250

i thought about £160-£180 max TBH!!

iirc its £50 per wheel plus extra for removing tyre, refitting, balancing and new chrome valves.

Heard of other garages doing it slightly cheaper, but this place was only a 5 min drive from ma house. Plus the franchise seems to have a good reputation down south, and this is the first 1 to open in scotland. The cheaper places seemed to have more mixed reviews, so i was willing to pay a wee bit more.

Most places charge £50 p/wheel as Gibb said. Gone have the days where it was £40 p/wheel. When I had my Williams wheels done some time ago (3yrs) it was £40 from a moderatley priced place.

Saying this I am not a fan of them, sorry.

Get them powder coated for 16/17 pound a wheel. But you need to have to take the rims to the powder coating place without any tyres on or valves so its a bit of hassle!

  New Kangoo Van!
^^^yep! invest in some coilovers also, as for tyre gel ive tried loads but none seems to last. Megs hot stuff is good, but again once the tyres are warm it fades like most other products.

Could have had them done a lot cheaper by the wheel specialist in leeds, 25% off and free strip refit CS discount lol. Bit of a trek for you mind.

OOO That looks pretty good. I was thinking about this earlier. Would have to get the windows tinted as well I think.

I'm not the biggest fan of tinted windows, but think the car may suit it now. mite go for a lightish tint. i'm chokin to lower it, but canny afford it the now, coilovers are dear as f**k! need to save up some pennies first. chokin to get ma yozza, just need a few mare folk to sign up to the group buy!

(drunk by the way, so ignore if this makes no sense!) at least i tried! lol
