New to Clio rs2

  03gti,2evors,clio rs
I'm new to this forum & to Clio's am retired & a bit of a back yarder & have a Golf Mk4 gti,Evo 6rs & 7rs & Mazda Rx4 so some experience with tools & recently learnig how to use a spray gun so like a challenge for interest sake & want to save sports cars from a premature end when opportunity & budget allows. I repaired three sad & unloved cars in the past several years a 03 VW GTI as my runaround a 07 Megane 225Rs & 03 Audi S3 for my sons to enjoy . In the past months we replaced the clutch in the 225 & all the parts usually required when it's time for a timing belt replacement. It was a good experience for a novice & I can now see why it cost so much to do here in Australia anyway. I recently bought another "tired car" in need of help & saving,it's a 02 Clio rs2 & the reason I joined this forum so hope I can converse with & learn from members more experienced than me with these revered little hatchbacks.

I took out the plugs which looked ok,& did a compression test. All 4 were around 175/8 psi,I have no idea what a healthy engine is supposed be. But for 250000klms didn't think it was too bad.

From what I have noticed not a lot like in the UK,but 172 & 182's are here along with other models like my son's 225 Megane sport & later iterations. Renault has a small but popular following over here. Particularity now as the JDM vehicles have risen so much in value, the RS versions offer good performance value with the car enthusiasts like myself & the motorsport clubs. I sure wish I could some how get readily available parts cheaply like you guys do,that would help keep more on the road instead of ending their day's on the track.
