I have a 2017 200 cup. Can confirm the gearbox was updated on these later models. To the same spec as the Trophy. Had test driven both a 2014 cup.and 2016 Trophy before buying mine. Its Instantly noticeable how much faster the gear changes are in manual. And in the standard driving mode. There is absolutely no delay in upshifts,. Would say its faster than the 2015 Trophy as well. The later Trophys where also tweaked gearbox.Really confused on the clio mk4 RS iterations. Can someone clear up which model(s) got the updated gearbox software?
They all have the same box, just different software, but you can't map the 'lazier' boxes apparently?
Ph1 came in Sport, Cup and Trophy guises - trophy has the bigger turbo and lower/stiffer suspension, revised intake BUT did this ph1 trophy get the better box software?
Then if it did, are the only changes to the ph2 facelift the looks and lights? The Clio 200 EDC facelift still has the less sharp gearbox?
Or was the gearbox update done only to the ph2 trophy?

RS did some essential tweaks on the cup, which it needed. And unfortunately went completely unnoticed by the motoring journalists and public. Engine power also increased with torque up to 192ftlb from 177. And the same, faster steering rack as Trophy. So the Cup was made more hard-core.
Yes whatever RS did its a big improvement on the Non Trophy models. Considering all the gripes and groans with the 200 was almost totally about how slow the gear change was. Renault did address it and just gave it the sane gearbox software as the Trophy. In Sport mode its almost beyond instant.Gearbox will be the same. The software will be different and on the paddles there are spacers so it takes less movement to switch gear. Its naff all tho.
