hi all

Thought i would start my own project thread as i am starting a sport replica, sorry to all the haters. The reason i am going down the rep root is because i cant afford to insure and run a real sport. Seeing some of the examples of reps on here have really made me want to start my own.

Heres how my car was when i first got it, every standard bought from renault stealer.

I kept it looking mint, cleaned and polished once a week

Then i had my first crash , i was gutted because in went in her facour went it shouldnt have . Thank god for fully comp 2.5k worth of damage.

Then i got her back from repair

The bug had begun, started off with some silvertechs and an RS grill

Then i got it lowerd 60mm on ktecs own springs and shocks.

Added a couple of white bits(the smurth part had started)

Thought i would add a couple more

Ive bought all the bits to start my rep. 172 rear bumper, 182 front bumper, 2x 182 wings never used from spares of a clio rally team in racing blue, yellow skirts rand new never used from the same person. Just waiting on a cup spoiler now

Ive been quoted1k for spraying all the new parts and blending in the wings with the doors, whats peoples thought on that?

Parts list to come:

white speedline turinis
side strips in blue with white lettering
White badges
fk coilies 70-80 mm drop hopefully
hub centred spacers
3inch slash vut exhaust
HID kit on xeons depending on funds

1k seems a heck of a lot to get those sprayed, I think I payed around half that for all my stuff sprayed. Looks like a promising project mate, keep us update

lol.. i got my parts all done for 350 quid..

front bumper, rear bumper, 2 wings, 2 side skirts, all side strips and door handles.

Excellent color match aswell!!!!

Couldn't of asked for it better.

My cheepest quote was £450 for lot doing, Highest quote was £800. All depends on location i suppose.

Looking forward to seeing it done. Also what about door handles you having them done?

The whole thing seems a bit of a waste to be honest, I was going to do the same thing but its well more worth it working your ass off then being able to afford a proper 172/182

Just thought i would update the project, I have managed to get all the parts needed for the replica apart from the rear arch liners and spacers. So here is a few pictures

Now i just have to find a bodyshop where i can get a good enough price/quality.

lol no way will look like one of those polo's ROFL. I know some people will starting slating me for going down the rep route but 1. cant afford the insurance, 2. i wont make my insurance go up. 3. i got the parts at a really good price

How will your insurance not go up mate? Unless you're planning to be seriously bent over if you crash again? Or unless you're insured with Quinn Direct as they don't give a damn about body mods iirc

im insured with a family friend declared everything so far, springs and shocks and the sound system. The only thing that went up by about £30 was my excess which is a bit lucky really tbh.

ive always wanted to make mine into a 172 rep

so far of done nothing as i put it back to standard because of a crash in march 08

always been borderline as im not sure to rep it or buy one . 5 years later im still in the standard 1.2 16v lol
