Interesting! Not sure ill be buying it though, why break the habbit of a lifetime?

Still unsure which one to pick. For £45, the Home Premium version is a bargain. And I'm wondering if I'd ever use the additions of the Pro version at home?

D.

I ordered the Home Premium version this morning, at £45 I can't complain as it'll only be installed on my MacBook Pro Bootcamp partition. No need for the Pro version as I do not connect to any domains and other than that it looks to be identical to Home Premium.

Will these discs be the same again where, Pro/Ultimate etc are all on the disc just depends on the code you put in to activate it.?

Vista Ultimate was way too "boggy", prefer Business tbh...

Grabbed a copy of Professional, had a £20 voucher so not too bad!

Its starts in the rest of Europe tomorrow. $199 for the Ultimate version is a bit too much of a leap in price. I think I will just get an OEM licence with my new build later this year and save the cash that way.

I'm too busy pulling my teeth out.

It's preferable to installing/using OSX.

If I tried that, my PC would demand to run several stress-tests at once and then throw itself into a bath. With an electric heater strapped to it for good measure.

Quite rightly so. Poor thing. Death before OSX? Sounds about right..... ;)

I preordered the home premium version from Amazon this morning. Don't think I'll need any of the features in the pro version.

Lad at work estimated Ultimate will be around £115 in Oct. I've got Vista Ultimate, but I'm awaiting Snow Leopard for the Mac first before even considering the PC update. (Snow only cost me £7.95 as I've bought a new Mac :))

this is the bit I find funny:
Important: The E editions of Windows 7 do not contain an Internet browser. Please get a browser from Microsoft or a third party and have it on a CD/DVD or another device so it's ready to install after the Windows 7 installation is complete.

so if you buy a computer, you have to have another computer to downlaod a web browser to then put on it, what a joke, stupid ruling, they should at least make them put installers for all the main browsers on the desktop to allow people to choose.

i'm sure osx comes with safari!

we (pc world) have done loads of them already and they were only available for pre-order today! we've been told every pre-order should be honored with allocated stock.

Were you doing them in-store also?

Same prices? (ie, no delivery costs?)

Which is the dumbest thing!

Microsoft's other proposition would be to include multiple browers or download links, etc. but their reasoning for this approach is that they won't have to wait for legal arguments to be heard which will delay production and mean that Windows 7 will launch in Europe later than the rest of the world.

FPMSL! That's almost on par with those elusive network card drivers that you sometimes have difficulty finding that say "Click here to search the internet". Erm? How?

Amazon have put their prices up to the "next inscrease" prices as they have sold out the initial pre-release ones.
