My Battery Light seems to be flicking on and off randomly, what the problem? Battery or Alternator

Pull the carpet out a little around the handbrake and check the cable connector, as Zydered said. I had a problem when the light wouldnt go off, this was because they rear brake drum pistons had blown. Does the handbrake work?
