Yeah spoke to local Renault dealer today got a key off eBay coming Friday and booked in Monday to get it coded to the car don't think they're too happy I'm supplying my own key. Hopefully they don't have issues coding the replacement key to the car. Forgot to ask for a price as well.

Just opened the old key up and looks like a little black switch has came loose on the opposite side of the circuit board from the battery. Never heard anything rattle so I didn't presume to look. Might try solder it back on tomorrow see if that works. I never even thought about a key off ebay I...

Anyone know? I'm assuming if I was to get a set of locks/keys/ignition barrels/ that the key wold need to be programmed to a transponder in the car? Am I right in thinking if I did get those and those alone and attempt to turn the car over I'd lock the ECU? Do these cars have a transponder box...

Just bought a 172 cup and the previous owner said they snapped the key off in the driver lock. The key fits in the passenger lock but doesn't work. It goes into the ignition and works fine. Apparently they just used the key fob for when they locked it but that isn't working even with a new...
