Thanks for the replies. Never thought about bumping it actually! Can't harm to try I suppose.
The mechanic did mention the immobiliser. What makes you say mine seems to be fine?
I found a local Renault specialist by the way and explained what was happening. He reckons no one will be able...
Ok, can anyone tell me what's going on here? I've included a video of appalling quality but hopefully it will give you some idea about what's going on. You'll probably need to turn your sound up a bit to hear the strange buzzing noise but judging from the playback it seems my mobile is rubbish...
Thanks for the suggestions.
It certainly does seem to point to the turbo in some way. Am I right thinking that might explain what seemed like over-fuelling when I put my foot down?
I find it so weird that no warning lights came on though, surely something should have been reported if the...
Something very strange happened to me on the way home last night. I was on some NSL back roads varying between 40 and 60 mph when all of a sudden the engine seemed to quieten up and the accelerator didn't seem to be responding. I was in 4th gear at the time and so slowed down to try some other...
Thanks for the replies :)
I think my Clio must have a pretty unpopular wheel size as I can't seem to find either of those suggestions with the right dimensions. Tried looking for a few tyres that got good reviews such as Hydragrips but no luck.
Perhaps I need to focus on budget models...
No suggestions? I'm looking to get the fronts replaced soon as the tread is getting pretty low and one of them I have to top up with air every couple of weeks or so :o
Cheers
Hi guys,
You've probably had loads of threads like these but I couldn't find anything specific to my query when I searched.
Basically, my front tyres are on their way out and to be honest they've never been particularly good, especially in the wet. I've got a Mk2 Clio Van (dCi) with a...
All these comments sound very promising especially when coming from people who own RS Clios in various forms! Looking forwards to getting my hands on one :D
All pretty favourable opinions on the 306 HDi then so far, think I'm gonna enjoy driving one!
I've never found my Clio snappy actually - always quite progressive when on the limit. I've only managed to get it out of shape once in the rain, but admittedly I was pissing around with the handbrake...
I was just wondering if anyone has had the chance to compare the handling of these two cars at stock? I have a Mk2 dCi Clio myself and I love the way it handles. I'm thinking of going for a 306 HDi of some description next and wondered how they compare in that department? I've heard people...
Wow, fair few differences to mine. Let's see... 104bhp remap, exhaust, body coloured bumper and side strip, bigger alloys, low profile tyres, subs, rear strut brace and let's not forget Renault Sport and 2.0 16v badges :) I'd go with the Momo steering wheel personally. Done anything to the...
Got the engine for £450 which seemed a good price.
I wish custom maps weren't so bloody expensive though, most are looking for the £300 mark which just seems a lot for something that can't be sold on once I've done with it!
Who would you recommend? Angel Tuning reckon they can get the 65...
Yeah, great looking van. Wish it had 182 internals though! Handles great but seriously lacks power. Having that torque on tap isn't so bad though (when it works!) These are the best shots I've got unfortunately:-
Had a service maybe six months ago and believe it or not, an engine...
At first I was certain it was a problem with the turbo spooling, but I suppose it might even be the throttle position sensor. I've got a dCi65 Clio van and what is happening is that sometimes I'll put my foot down and it feels like the turbo is non-existant as the revs crawl up so slowly. It...
So the dCi100 has the same suspension set-up as my van?
I'm a bit disappointed if that's the case. Don't get me wrong, I think the handling is great as standard - it certainly inspires confidence when pushing it through the bends, but I was expecting something a bit tighter when there's around...
