So, for the benefit of future searches turns out this judder was being caused by the Pirtek PAS pipe. I know a few run these without issue so looks like I have been unlucky. Must have been some resonance or restriction in the pipe. Anyway , standard Renault pipe fitted (awful job!) and problem...
Both pads are identical, they are cheapy gsf jobs , I'm wondering if that's the problem? It seems to me either the pad or the spring is wrong. I think if the back edge of the pad were a different shape the springs would fit properly.
They do fit flush until you put the springs in when they are...
I've always thought the clio could do with a diff fitted , sounds like a very wise way to spend your money there. Although they are bloody pricey!
Should have been a factory fit/option IMO.
no worries mate , it seems totally logical that it could be the top mounts.
I've looked it myself loads , had a couple of mechanics looks at it , I even took it to a 'french car specialist' who had it on a ramp , with and without turning plates who couldn't see anything wrong and said it was...
Top mounts were another fail , there was nothing really wrong with my old ones and new ones haven't sorted the problem. Another 50 quid down the drain.
