I had an Astra VXR Nurburgring for a year because I wanted the amazing noise they make. It wasn’t dynamically brilliant but it was miles better than people say they are, albeit mine was on coilovers.
Change the battery in the key. I had the same what I thought was an immobiliser issue in my 172 and it was just a dying key battery. Changed it and never had an issue again.
Fred at BTM grinded mine off for me at 8pm on a Friday night when I had a track day at Oulton the next day to replace an injector.

I do my 56 mile round trip (takes an hour+ each way) in an F30 320d and it is significantly more pleasant than in the Astra VXR Burg that it replaced (which is in turn far more refined than a Clio).
