Why are there so many tw*ts on these forums??? Cup/172/V6 etc, etc with a confident or able driver will be able to keep up and or beat many other forms of exotica given the right circumstances.
I dont see many people sl*gging off the pr*cks round here who ONLY talk about "doing" cars off the...
I agree that the standard manifold on the CUP and the standard 172 is very impressive. It looks like a very good job. My only gripe about all 172s is that they never allowed the car to have a "proper" exhaust pipe out the rear.
Ordered mine on 16/06/02 and finally got it on 10/10/02.
Done 4030 miles, garaged, 28 insurance with Tesco 515 pounds but due to go down to about 480 pounds, live in sussex.
Waiting for the seats (if they ever get launched) and will buy the ECU when I can afford it.
How about setting...
Fair point, but I found on my old mk1 that the ABS would often cut in on bumpy roads when it just wasnt necessary. There are benefits and disadvantages for both with or without ABS. The Cup is aimed at the trackday driver more or less and I am one of those people who prefer it for this reason...
When I had my Mk1 172, I had some fun with a serious Fiat 20v Turbo on a country road. On the straights I was very, very gradually pulling away, on the twistys there was no contest.
Lets not forget the power to wieght ratio, aswell.
What type of Cobra seats are they? (Monaco or Milano?????) Did you need to get a special type of subframe? Would be grateful for your help on this one.
Bloddy Hell, everyone is going mad!
I test drove a CTR with the intent of buying, my car then was a Mk1 172. The CTR was a VERY quick car with a great seating position. Hammered it round a bypass for fiften minutes and then turned off onto some proper country roads for adecent alround test...
Sorry yeah, oil!
Mine has done 3650 miles and I was going to change the oil very soon. There have been a number of threads about this, one suggesting the same elf oil as you have.
To be honest I was going to use Mobil 1, an oil I have used in many of my cars but assuming some of these people...
Twit,
Couldnt agree you more! I too have owned significantly faster RWD cars than the Cup and driven an Elise on the track. Whilst the Clio IS a fantastic car, the Elise is so much more involving, saying that however the Elise was and still is double the price (new) of a Cup.
Often on these...
Teady,
I said it was a common problem becuase I have heard of it many times and said to the servicing bloke that as the car was already booked in (they broke something fixing a leak, another common problem!) I didnt want to waste time rebooking it in as it was almost certain to be the centre...
The garage said that they would have a look at it so I am not worried as I know it will get replaced but it is the fact that it is a common problem and if Renault were aware of it, it would save alot of time and energy.
The same goes for the R-Sport options aswell, we need to know what is...
