I went for this one - couldn't find anything better or cheaper (price includes delivery) and it's height adjustable.

Only other easy thing to check is the fuses - iirc there is a fusebox located in the engine compartment, check them all.
You could always try phoning your local renault garage and ask to speak to the service dept and see if they will give you any help - although if they are like any renault...
Having the handbrake on or off will make no difference when doing the front brakes.
The easiest way is to use a G-clamp, but you can use anything to hand to lever it back in - just watch you don't damage the rubber seal.
It is also recommended that you open the bleed nipple on the caliper...
If you are in the Edinburgh area then I would avoid chips away at all costs - I got him to sort a few chips on my rear wheelarch and he made a complete arse of it, the paint shrunk and started to crack 2 days later. It cost me £125 last year - complete waste of money. You would be better off...
