    172 turbo trouble

Stevo My car went into limp mode but it wouldn't let me have any control over the throttle at all, just sat at 1500 rpm. fortunately wasn't far from home. Tried re-setting the ECU a few times but no joy. Ended up getting a new throttle body and jobs a gooden!!

    182 Turbo!

K-tec have converted a 182 a couple of weeks back. The lad who owns it had it rolling roaded yesterday; 309bhp and 285 lbs/ft (FW)

    quaife lsd

Quaife used K-tec to get feedback on the diff, obviously it wasn't good but since Quaife have had the box back and replaced the snapped drive pin with a stronger one they have had no problems. The Tuner GP is a good example for that.

    172 / 182 Turbos

I noticed you were getting a pretty good BHP figure from little boost, i went the low compression route and still found the car to be quicker before the boost kicks in than a std 172.

    172 / 182 Turbos

Is that a high compression conversion, with std pistons?

    172 / 182 Turbos

No cutting what so ever, the FMI sits just behind the lower grill, looks stealth that way. K-tec have gone for a larger option on their car which requires some cutting, but they are running a bit more boost and use their car mainly on the track.

    172 / 182 Turbos

I don't think i would of taken on the build if i had to do it home!! The main factor being the access to the ramps, the amount of times my car went up and down in the air. Mike is a good lad and an awsome mechanic, glad he was around for the advice. Cheers buddy!! As Dave said there was...

    172 / 182 Turbos

Will have to get two cars on a rolling road together running the same psi, similar set-up etc to see if there is any major difference. There are pros and cons for both set-ups depends on what works for you. There is allways the option of running a small amount of Noz to keep inlet air temp...

    172 / 182 Turbos

I just get traction in third when running 12 psi. I fitted a boost controller which enables me to program the boost dependant on gears and revs, so i can run low boost in 1st and 2nd limiting the wheel spin. The Cup doesn't come with equal length drive shafts, i guess to save weight but i had...

    172 / 182 Turbos

Im interested to see how the charge cooler fairs up against a front mount. I went for a FM, so i didn't have to relocate the battery and it fits nicely behind the front bumper.

    172 / 182 Turbos

There must be a few more 172 / 182 Clio Turbos on here than me and Stevo. I recon there has to be around 8-10 on the road between BB and K-tec.

    Recommended - Mintex Pads

Bit more info on the Mintex pads; K-tec fitted some to the clio turbo for the Tuner GP, after 10 laps there wasn't much left on them. Apparently there was no brake fade to speak of and would recommended them as a fast road pad but not for the track, if your looking for a pad that lasts.
