I saw a black 172 (quite rare, thought they were all silver:D ) on my way home (Toton) tonight as well at the roundabout at the bottom of University Boulevard. Might have been the same one lol.

    Turntables

Ahh, god bless Vinyl. Sadly, my Rega turntable is in my Dad's loft as I don't have space for it now.:( I still rememeber the day when I compared my £200 T/table to a £1000 CD Player and the turntable :slap: all over the CD player. Ggiven the right source material of course. I must have...

Could Blue Ray be the next Betamax....

Indeed they do. I think 2:1 is nearer the mark for BR outselling HD-DVD (software) according to various reports out there.;) That's not a bad result for HD-DVD when you consider there are 5 times (maybe 10!) as many pontential BR players out there then there are HD-DVD players.... That's...

Could Blue Ray be the next Betamax....

And you're not alone with this. Zillions of others are the same (including me). There's just something about owning your own shiny case with a special disc inside:approve: Need much faster speeds etc etc. Be another decade at least before talk about Optical discs being threatened by d/l...

Could Blue Ray be the next Betamax....

Cool:D Shirley if peeps are buying a good DVD player (upscaling and all that) they can buy a Tosh HD-DVD player for as good (if not cheaper) a price which upscales pretty well, and plays HD-DVD's which blow upscaling out of the water (on a big enough tv). Maybe there's more margin in high...

Could Blue Ray be the next Betamax....

Can I ask where you work? I wouldn't have thought the likes of Currys/Dixons sell high End Arcam stuff so do you work for a more specialist retailer?

Could Blue Ray be the next Betamax....

I think Betamax was technically superior... Have to disagree. It's a major coupe for the HD-DVD camp and should ensure it's survival for quite some time. BR Players (inc the PS3) far outnumber the number of HD-DVD players out there (stateside at least). The fact that BR only outsells HD...

Could Blue Ray be the next Betamax....

Ok, ok, couldn't help myself. Ott I know:o Pretty amazing news though announced today. http://uk.reuters.com/article/technologyNews/idUKN2028331720070820 Should put a stop to the BR's "the format war is over" chants:D Hopefully, more studios will follow (a big ask at the...
