Mine sounded like a deisel. Ended up being the cam pulley

Halfrauds didnt have any so had to get rubbish champon ones! will do for now though Any ideas whether the ecu light will go off?

no i just rinsed it with the hose then degreased then rinsed again. Iv never had a problem with any of my other cars doing it.

Set off for work today and noticed the cup running a bit rough and it was steadily getting worse like it was running on 3 cylinders. Finally got it home tonight and got me mate to have a look at it and 2 of the plugs were burnt out. Now i washed and degreased the engine last night and wondering...

Netherton mate, dont think its got an aftermarket system on but it does sound pretty loud for a standard car. Coilovers are first on my list though

Its going into safe mode mate. Mine does it every now an then. There could be a number of things like a dodgy earth or sensor
