Simon
Nice pics!
You've got my cousin in the 106 looking like the crazy frog!! did you get any others on the black rallye? my Brother was dual driving it?
Simon
Thanks Chaps
It's all sorted for now...
Changed the rear mount and played with the adjustable hanger behind the centre silencer on the exhaust.
Exhaust is clear from the body all along and for now hasn't knocked once, as you say hard acceleration in first can get the smallest of noises...
I've started getting a knocking noise on my 2003 172 CUP from the exhaust hitting the front cross member from it when it's getting the usual daily abuse.
So far i've changed the gearbox dog leg mount (which had seen much better days) and at the same time checked the engine mounts which are...
2nd that, there's nothing wrong with them at all, as you say border's correct as is the spacing, looking good Nick! The spacing on the ones Nick did for me on the other hand are a little suspect officer
But for the amount of miles it does I think we'll be OK.
Never hand any trouble...
Love the car, they're a real laugh on the hillclimb circuits
I ran an Ex 172 cup car on the UK Hillclimb circuits last year (checkout www.playtoymotorsport.com )
The car was brilliant but needed lots more power to stop coming 2nd to a seriously sorted MK1 golf with big power from a german...
Thanks for all the feedback
I have to agree with the above
I've played about with them and got them to something just about acceptable
They certainly are too hard for road use, i've played about with them everyday, people at work are wondering what the hells going on when i'm under the...
Yeh I knew they were hard and thats not problem, I just want to try balance the bobbing sensation it's got at the moment,
What damping setup do you usually run?
I've just messed with it more this morning
2.5 turns from softest on the fronts
6 clicks from softest or the rears
Cheers Simon
lol, I got that impression in the first 10 seconds of driving....
The standard gear's all shot at so it's marginally better, the rear shocks had gone and it made for interesting wet cornering,
I'll pursist for now and it'll no doubt be for sale very shortly....
Thanks
Simon
Hi Chaps
I fitted some gaz coilovers to my PH1 172 last night and to be honest it rides like i'm driving a pogo stick!!
I've got it on the softest damping setting on the rears and I started on softest at the front but it was shocking, so I put 2.5 turns on the fronts and it rode slightly...
Cheers Chris, I won't bother with it then!
Whats the wheel like on your ph1? just bought a black one that will be a nice motor after a tidy up but the wheel is the only thing letting the interior down...
Simon
Spot the yellow one in the background its mine!! wuhoooooo! everyone of them's rough round the edges, the panel gaps on mine were shocking! if they've has big shunts in the past they've usually been re shelled as it's cheaper to re shell at £1500 a time for the shell than work the old one back...
