Is there a difference between springs for the non sport model and sport model of the clio II? Ie. can i put 1.2 springs on a 2l and visversa?

gearbox blew up fitting a new one taking the engine out tonight was just wondering if anyone knew of any guides on here that might be usefull cheers

it's gearbox oil there is oil that looks to be leaking from the bottom of the bellhousing where the gearbox mates to the engine is there anything to break in there to leak oil or is it likely that the gearbox has broken a hole in it?

the belt is fine from what i could see and when i didnt have it on idle that belt ran fine. my brother is pro car man but he cant help today hopefully tomorrow. the alternator looked fine ill ill try decribe where the part that looked leaking is in the middle of the car back of the engine...

forgot to mention i replaced the alternator yesterday but everything seemed fine. the big noise happened as i was putting it into third gear or just after i put it into gear

okay thanks for the quick responses guys! the car is way up the street now and its pissing down! ill take photos tomorrow and no it didnt smell like cat piss :/ i quicky pulled over turned the car off and had a look wasnt sure and turned it back on when idling the engine sounded wrong

okay so driving home today very close to my house and massive noise came from the engine the best way i can describe it is like i ran over a big plastic bottle :/ followed by crunching noises i stopped the car and couldnt help but notice the massive trail of fluid behind my car and a puddle...

and yes i have a pit in my garage <3

hi tested it all again last night when the car was idle the battery read 14v but very rapidly dropped to nothing all the cables from the alternator have continuity and everything is earthed fine i charged up the battery with a charger and it had power for 30 mins or so, it is taking a charge...

taking my bumper of tonight and new alternator should be here tomorrow ready to fit but dont have a tool for compressing the tensioner

how were you guys using the jubillee clip on the tensioner has anyone got a pic?

hi yeh tested the battery and the alternator, battery is fine alternator is fucked :(
