    fault with steering rack?

My steering column has play in it, can lift it up and side to side by about a inch, really don't need to be a mechanic. Seems to be a common fault, but don't know if there is a cheap fix was quoted £164 by renault to look at it, but apparently it could be just a top bearing or a ball and socket...

Are PE2's really worth the extra cash?

PS2s' came top in the dry braking, for wet the F1's were the best on lap and braking. The 195/45/16 would be a better choice in the wet as the side walls would deform more.

    My new leather retrim..mmmmmmm

looks too good, makes Renaults standard gray leather look-alike plastic awful, now you're going to have to replace the rest of the interior to match.

Best way to wax the car?

I like to spray the patch first with a fine mist of warm water, then add the wax, this way it's easier to move about and get a thin even layer of wax, then leave to cure.

    My mk3 euro project

Euro seems to suit the Mk3 better than most french cars, more... German. The Honda Civic started it and now all small cars are MPV shaped - and big. Look at the Twingo, its a box compared to the Mk2 clio. Anyway; centre caps for the wheels, wider arches, smaller air intake for the front bumper...

    CAMBELT...

Really? I don't think they are allowed to do that, something about unfair trading or competition.

Anyone running smaller tyres on the back?

Quite possibly, but the torque from a K20a isn't exactly huge about 180 lbs-ft? Its probably more due to braking load over the front being much greater. I think having higher side-walls out back would create more lateral grip as they would distort more before giving up. Having smaller out front...

Anyone running smaller tyres on the back?

just been watching http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uE67br3xJOA&feature=related and these guys all run smaller tyres out back e.g the Spoon Civic EK9 F 255/40R17 B 215/45R17 and on a Honda Fit F 225/45R16 B 195/55R15 anyone doing the same thing? I imagine it would help prevent...

    S1600

Just wandering what people think of this series, there are some great vids on Youtube of them e.g; http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=SkybFTUIqSQ&feature=related Anyone done a replica? They look a bit like a V6 but without the vents and have wider front bumper vents. But there seem to be ones...

    My 1st Car 172 Cup

All good comments, but even if your good on track doesn't mean you will be safe on the road, reading the road is difficult and takes years to learn, going faster just gives u less time before that corner/gravel/ditch. Try having a rally lesson in something like a 205, teaches u how to react and...
