OK guys looks like we have the answer. In case it helps others: - jacked car up safetly - removed front wheels - examined induction rings and sensors - unplugged sensors from main loom - put a standard DC Voltmeter over the female pins of sensors Results: FR: 0.76-0.9V depending wheel...

Interesting you should say that. The last thing I did before it started working was to wiggle the big green copper earthing wire between the Gearbox and Chassis. I dismissed though under the thought of: how can an earth wire stop working?? As long as it's touch the thing it needs then if should...

Additional: Just attached the OBD 2 and got DTC codes: P0141 (O2 sensor fault): due to Cat removal P0443 (Fuel Purge Solenoid Fault): due to purge valve removal I am 99.999% sure these DTCs will not start a car from running. Just to be sure I cleared the codes and car still doesn't start.
