Today we decided to change the clutch on my Clio 172 ph2 (MY2001) and the gear selector seal.
Box went out without any problems untill we decided we needed to split the gearbox in order to replace the selector seal, here we found out that the box had seen better days so i am now...

my engine in my 2001 Clio 172 is fooked, now i ca get my hands on a 182 engine. Is it possible to change only the bare engine without changing ECU etc?

On my 2001 clio 172 i noticed an oil leak near the exhaust manifold. Firstly i sealed the plenum area as this was the area i initially
thought it was coming from. On further inspection it seems to be coming from the exhaust manifold studs. Exhaust gasket has been changed but

Yep, changed all tyres (front and rear) but this had to do with the fact that i wasnn't happy with the way they performed in the wet. By coincidence we discovered that the steel belts inside the tires had snapped and there was air in between the layers.
I had exactly the same, so changed the whole lot and still did it and was driving me nuts. In the end it turned out to be the tires that were damaged on the inside....
Your thermostat has a little rubber ring for sealing it when closed, over time it will perish a bit allowing coolant to circulate even when thermostat is closed. I had exactly the same. I replaced the thermostat and now all is well.
