I think the paint one is my favourite. What is the bottom one?

    How are these?

Top tip, dont use a built-in flash :) Shoot in A/Av mode (open wide) or bump the iso. If you have a tripod, even better. Just a random tip. [ unsharp mask! and get correct exposure and whitebalance, especially if you aren't shooting raw ]

    worlds fastest lens

They have broken the F/1.0 barrier, which is a milestone on modern lenses I belive. Although canon used to produce a f/0.95 back waaaaaay long ago. F/0.95 will only be used for low-light. If you want sharpness you'll still need to drop a stop or two...

    Sensor cleaning..

Either would work I guess, just need to make sure to give it a right good scrub to get all the crud off it. *Disclaimer* This will work on the sensor only ! Dont be an idiot and try this on the mirror ;)

    Drawn in to it all!

There are some obsolete models from Nikon which are well worth a look. Preowned they will cost similar to the D40x, but a lot will have many more features ! Including AF motor on the body. D50/D70(s), D80 is well worth a look too if you aren't penny-pinching (BobRTE seems more than happy with...

    Drawn in to it all!

Cannot go wrong with D40x. Everyone is always banging on about them whenever someone asks what dslr to get. Remember to get yourself some nice glass too. 50mm f/1.8 is a must :) It has no drive motor on the body though, so you'll be limited to lenses which have AF drive (unless you want to...

    HDR - how to guide

Just to point out that creating an 'HDR' from a single JPG is not recommended technique, and wont give the range you would get from multiple exposures. The same can be said for HDRs processed with multiple 'exposures' from a single raw image.

Advice needed - Good beginner DSLR

Could pick up a 350d or a D50 now for reasonable prices :) I'd always pick the D50 over a D40 on a budget since it has a drive motor in the body and you have a (much) larger choice of lenses. (and has 5 AP points, settings display on top etc..)

    Want to start understanding camera's..

S7000 is a bridge camera. It has apeture/shutter priority, so there's plenty of scope for learning the basics. Fixed lens usually means very quick focusing, but of course the 'superzooms' wont give you much wide-angle. I started with one of these Fujifilm cameras and I've taken some amazing...

Spotted a very nice blue 182 in Greenock last week ! It had a minor dent in the bumper like someone reversed in to a bollard ;)
